  • We have our own questions about season ticket sales at Nebraska, but it’s apparently getting real at Wisconsin
    Apr 3 2026

-BadgerExtra’s Jim Polzin wrote yesterday about numbers continuing to go down at Wisconsin in ticket sales—stemming not

only from rough results on the field but also high licensing fees in obtaining the tickets. What is the fix if anything?

  • A billionaire and a conference commissioner are butting heads---the drama is HIGH in the Big 12 right now
    Apr 3 2026

-Cody Campbell---the man who has helped make Texas Tech athletics good in almost every sport because of his ability to play

players with NIL---is ‘beefing’ with Brett Yormark, the Big 12 commissioner. Yormark wants to move Week 3’s Texas

Tech/Houston game to a Friday night, which Campbell is very opposed to, because of the importance of Fridays for high school

    football in the state

-It led to Yormark saying, “Cody Campbell does not run the Big 12,” to which Campbell responded, “EVERYTHING RUNS

    THROUGH LUBBOCK”…it’s a beautiful feud

  • College football is already trending the way of the NFL, so Ryan Day thinks it makes sense to have a college football draft
    Apr 3 2026

-The Ohio State head coach went on ESPN’s “This is Football” podcast and floated the idea of a draft system in college

football—sometime down the road as college football evolves into an NFL model—and cited the way the CHL (Canadian Hockey

League) drafts players when they are 16 and is able to trade them…like we see with the Lincoln Stars in the USHL

-It’s unclear how that would work or how many rounds it would take to have that….but it seems highly unrealistic…is it even

desirable? And this ‘draft’ would just be for players coming out of high school, right? Would the portal stay as it is?

  • It’s Final Four (and Easter) weekend….who does The Stool think will be playing in Monday night’s National Championship of the NCAA Tournament?
    Apr 3 2026

    -Tomorrow in Indianapolis, we’ll have Illinois/UConn at 5:09pm (TBS), followed by Michigan/Arizona (7:49pm, TBS)…as the B1G

tries to get its first national title in men’s hoops since 2000 (Michigan State)

-Will The Stool be locked in? What about the Breakers? Are we all behind Illinois because of our friend Brad Sturdy’s

appearance yesterday on the show and his willingness to offer Bill his courtside seat in the game vs. Iowa in Houston?

-Also, ROLL CALL (sponsored by Madsen’s Bowling & Billiards): where are Breakers listening from today?
