• Why Hip Hop is THE CURE To Racism #35
    Mar 31 2026
In this deeply profound episode, I sit with legendary dancer, martial artist, and thinker Bboy Remind. As a core member of the iconic Style Elements crew, Remind has influenced the global breakdance and Hip Hop community for decades. But his story goes far beyond the dance floor.Born in 1977 to a Native American mother (Lakota and Northern Cheyenne from Standing Rock and Lame Deer) and a Filipino father from Cebu. Remind grew up navigating the gritty, gang-ridden environments of Stockton, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Surviving poverty and stints in Juvenile Hall, Hip Hop became his "ghetto pass" and ultimate savior. Today, the man who dropped out of high school to forge his own path now lectures at universities globally. In this exclusive interview, Bboy Remind drops massive esoteric and historical knowledge. He breaks down why he views breaking not as a sport, but as an ancient "Indigenous technology" built on sacred geometry that literally activates dormant DNA and heals trauma. In this episode, we discuss: • Indigenous Worldviews: The true history of the California Gold Rush, why reservations operate as "outdoor prisons," and how systemic trauma drives substance abuse. • The Cure to Racism: How the global Hip Hop nation solves conflicts non-violently in the cipher, manifesting Martin Luther King Jr.'s ultimate dream. • Unlocking the Matrix: Debunking standard evolution, understanding the true builders of the pyramids, and how to find pure bliss in your own breath.• The Olympics Controversy: Why breaking in the Olympics was misappropriated as a PR move to distract from the Larry Nassar scandals.Time Stamps:00:00:00 - Intro: Is Hip Hop the Cure to Racism?00:01:18 - Meet Bboy Remind: The Legacy of REMIND00:02:08 - Bboy Remind's Biography: Filipino & Lakota/Cheyenne Roots00:04:39 - Growing Up in Stockton: Gangs, Poverty, and Finding Hip Hop00:15:15 - Escaping the Matrix: Why Remind Rejected Traditional Education00:26:11 - Breaking as Ancient Indigenous Technology & Meditation00:34:17 - Mixing Styles: The Origin of Bboy Remind's Unique Flow00:44:36 - The Truth About Breaking in the Olympics (and the Larry Nassar Scandal)00:54:58 - Who Should Really Lead the Breaking Community?01:07:22 - How Dance Heals Trauma and Activates Your DNA01:19:54 - The 1992 Chicken Villa Battle: 50 Halos and Catching the Vortex01:27:15 - Debunking Evolution: The Indigenous View on Humanity's Origins01:43:13 - The Real History of Native Americans & the California Gold Rush01:56:12 - Did Aliens Build the Pyramids? In this episode, Meech De France talks about his long journey into the world of dance, from adolescence to becoming a global dance icon. We talked about his time within the Hip Hop and House Dance culture, French dance lineages, creative process, what is 'bad musicality' and why artists must adapt evolve to thrive in 2025.

A visionary, Meech is also the creator of “Ghôst Flow,” a unique style based on instinctive fluidity, depth of movement, and an organic connection to music.

His solo work Music Beat My Feeling and his project Ghôst Flow were presented at the Lyon Dance Biennale in 2008, and then broadcast internationally (United States, Japan, etc.).

Always in search of new artistic dimensions, Meech is currently exploring:

    • Motion capture,

    • Artificial intelligence,

    • Interactive digital scenography, with the ambition of pushing back the boundaries of bodily expression.
