    Apr 20 2026
John welcomes author Sebastian Mallaby to discuss his new bestselling book, “The Infinity Machine: Demis Hassabis, DeepMind, and the Quest for Superintelligence.” Mallaby explains why Hassabis, the leader of Google’s efforts in artificial intelligence, remains an obscure and under-covered figure compared with Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, and Elon Musk, the poster boys of the A.I. revolution; why, despite his relative public obscurity, Hassabis may prove more important in shaping our future than any of them; and whether he is, at bottom, the kind of person we should comfortable entrusting with such power. Thank you so much for what you do, John and for bringing a very pertinent guest on, such as Debbie Dingell. The piece with her on The Circus was something I often revisited because it brought such high hopes to the eminent election of Joe Biden .They were hopes for much needed change to the political climate. This deeper dive really shed light into the important causes Ms. Dingell values and her invaluable work in Congress. I’d like to thank her for her bravery in sharing personal experiences that will undoubtedly help people in domestic violence situations and also surprisingly, in vaccine hesitations matters. You are such a brilliant light ,John and I personally thank you for drawing out many important points from Not only this interview, but every one you undertake!

Insightful and important!!

I first saw John Heilemann on Nicks Wallace’s MSNBC show and I liked listening to his point of view of the various topics. It’s better here because it’s more than a few minutes.
John’s guests are the best of the best so thanks for letting us get to hear their full opinions on whatever is going on at the time.

I learned so much! Maybe I don't want to live forever but the possibility of living longer with a better quality of life has never been more accessible than it is today. I can't wait to watch the PBS series. I will find it and enjoy it I'm sure. thank you John Heilman for having such interesting guests!
