Howdy, folks! Good to see all your shining faces 'round this here fire. Tonight, we're gonna hear about a brave woman, a hesitant cowboy, and how God used some unexpected heroes to win a big battle.

Now, folks, our story today takes us back to the land of Israel, a spell after we last visited. The people of Israel, well, they kinda strayed from the straight and narrow trail. They started doin' things that weren't pleasing to the Lord. And when folks wander off, sometimes trouble comes callin'.

This time, the trouble came in the form of a mighty king named Jabin, the king of Canaan. He lived in a strong fortress called Hazor. His top general, a fella named Sisera, was a mean one. He had a whole mess of powerful war wagons, what they called chariots of iron – mighty fearsome, like a whole stampede of armored stagecoaches! He had 900 of 'em! And for twenty long years, he oppressed the people of Israel cruelly, pushin' 'em around and makin' their lives hard.

Now this here is the story of our friends, the Israelites, ready to move on into the promise land. And this rodeo ain’t got no buckin’ broncos or lasso-slingin’ cowpokes. Nope… this here’s about a whole city called Jericho, and how its walls got bucked clean off the map by faith and a thunderin’ shout!

Now, you remember last time—Joshua sent two brave scouts ridin’ into Jericho, quiet as coyotes under a moonlit sky. They came back sayin’, “Land’s mighty fine… but that city’s locked up tighter than a rancher’s prize bull before rodeo day.” Walls so tall and thick, they looked like they’d never be thrown. But the Lord spoke to Joshua, steady and sure, like a seasoned trail boss. He said, “Joshua, that city? It’s already yours.” That’s like bein’ told, “Son, the rodeo buckle’s got your name on it—you just gotta ride in and claim it.” Now here’s where things get… well… a little sideways.

Now you remember Joshua, don’t ya? Took over as trail boss after Moses. He was fixin’ to lead his people into the Promised Land—a place richer than a well-watered valley after spring rain.

Well howdy, buckaroos! I’m mighty glad y’all came back, ‘cause today we got ourselves somethin’ real special to read from the Good Book. Now last time… well, that was a hard road we walked together. But today? Oh, today’s the kind that makes your heart beat a little faster and your eyes shine like a Texas sunrise.

See, this here passage is about the greatest good news this side of heaven—when my best friend, Jesus, didn’t stay in that grave. No sir! He rose right up, just like He said He would. And I tell ya, there ain’t nothin’ more powerful than that. ‘Cause it means death didn’t win, darkness didn’t win… God’s love did.

Now this story’s full of wonder, and I want y’all to listen close, ‘cause it changes everything—for me, for you, and for this whole wide world.

Today, we’re gonna be in the book of Luke, startin’ in chapter 24. But enough of my ramblin’… let’s hear it straight from the Big Bossman himself.

Well howdy, buckaroos! I'm so glad ya'll came back and ya know, today I'm gonna be readin' from the Good Book, but this is always a little hard for me to read. See, this passage is about when my best friend, Jesus, died on the cross. And even though, I know it all turns out alright in the end, well, it's still ain't easy thinkin' about someone you love goin' through a world of hurt, especially when they're doing it so you don't have to. Now this is a longer passage, so do your best to pay attention.

Today, I'll be pickin' up where we left off in the book of Luke, startin' at chapter 22 verse 39 and going all the way through to the end of chapter 23. But enough of what I have to say, let's hear it from the Big Bossman himself.

Well howdy there, buckaroos. I sure hope you’re settlin’ in cozy… tonight, I’m gonna read to ya from the Good Book. Last time, we talked about Jesus ridin' into Jerusalem on a donkey, and how happy and hopeful the people were to see him. Tonight, we're gonna talk about something called, "The Last Supper"

It happens right in the middle of what some folks call Holy Week. Jesus had been teachin’, healin’, lovin’ people every step of the way… and now He’s sittin’ down with His closest friends for one final meal to celebrate the Passover—Passover is a special meal where God’s people remember how He rescued our friends, the Israelites, from slavery in Egypt by sparing their homes and making a way for their freedom. And on this night… Jesus is about to tell his closest friends how God plans to save them again.

So let’s open up to Luke chapter 22… and hear it just the way it’s written.

Well howdy there, buckaroos. Scoot on in close to the fire. Yep, right there. Let that warmth soak into your boots and your bones. I’ve been waitin’ on y’all. Tonight's story is about our Israelite friends out in the wilderness and wouldn't you know, they were lookin' for something to drink. God was tryin' to show the people that He can provide for them no matter where they are. But see, these Israelites well they seemed to keep on forgettin' that. And so they started grumblin' to Moses and Aaron about needin' water again. Since Moses was their leader, they started blamin' him for bringin' them out in the desert to begin with. Everytime things got tough, they'd start sayin' how they shoulda just staying put in Egypt. They were gettin' all riled up, actin' madder than a hornet in a hat.
