In today’s video, I’m covering the case of Alexia “Lexi” Marie De La Cerda and the federal case against Derick Wilkinson, who is accused in connection with her death. What first drew me to this case was the most recent court ruling, where a judge rejected a proposed plea agreement that would have resolved the case without trial.

We’ll go through who Lexi was, what court documents say happened on August 9, 2024, the evidence investigators say they uncovered, the charges filed against Wilkinson, and why the court ultimately rejected the plea deal. I’ll also be discussing the judge’s comments in the latest order, because those words are really what made this case stand out to me.
