In July 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputy Oscar Rocha lost his life after contracting the virus while working inside Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, California. A 25-year veteran of the department, Rocha had spent decades serving his community and was only months away from retirement.
