“Send Coach John a message”

I found an awesome post from My Positive Outlooks (@mypositiveoutlooks) and (mypositiveoutlooks.com). The post shared this thought: “Today, I give thanks to everyone who’s been part of my journey. Each person has taught me lessons and added color to my story. I’m grateful for the love, the laughter, the challenges, and even the struggles - because they’ve guided me as I continue moving through life.” We had a wedding this past weekend. We’ve known both the bride and groom for a long time. The groom since he was born and the bride since she was 5 years old. Their parents obviously for a long time too and so many other people. I was thinking about all of the people that we have known throughout our lives while sitting & listening to the great music that was playing from this amazing band they had. Then, I saw a former student and I went up to him to talk. He was there with his wife and he shared how they are expecting their 2nd child. I had a wonderful conversation with him and his wife and I told him how proud I was about him. I worked with his sister and brother too - all of them, “great kids.” As I sat back down to continue to enjoy the music, I got to thinking (and tearing up of course) how blessed I am to have had all of these students & players in my life, and how they affected me in so many positive ways. It helps to put more appreciation and gratitude into our lives when we recognize the amount of people that have been part of our lives - some offer love, awesome memories and are a fun part of our journeys. Others, they offered us maybe a ton of experience. This post really connected to me and helped me to see so much value that is a part of my life.
