The Orlando Magic felt their process and effort were fine in their Play-In game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Yet the result remains the same. The Magic could not get their best players going and everything just seemed hard as they could not keep up with the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the end, Tyrese Maxey's personal 7-0 run in the fourth quarter broke the game open, and Paolo Banchero and the Magic could not answer the bell. Everything for this Magic team is hard as all the troubles of the season collide in its dying breath.

The Magic now face a do-or-die game Friday against the Charlotte Hornets with everything on the line -- their future and most of all pride as they try to salvage a season once filled with so much hope.

The Orlando Magic are trying to prepare for their Play-In Tournament game against the Philadelphia 76ers, but rumors about the team's future continue to swirl with the seeming inevitability that they will move on from Jamahl Mosley this summer. There may be nothing Mosley can do to save his job with this disappointing season.

That leaves the Magic really only playing for pride. And this Play-In Game may be no more important to anyone than Paolo Banchero, who is equally at the center of the discussion facing this team.

Banchero had an up-and-down season where he made progress in some key areas and regression in others. He has always been a postseason riser and the Magic will need him to take a major step up to lead the Magic to the Playoffs.

The Orlando Magic have an extra day to prepare for the Philadelphia 76ers in the Play-In Tournament as the stakes have raised with the postseason's arrival.

No player probably means more and will have a bigger say in the Magic's postseason future than Franz Wagner. Since returning from injury, he has put up solid numbers in limited minutes. The Magic need to maximize his minutes and hope he can continue to do more as the postseason wears on. The Magic's best bet is to get the most from Wagner and his minutes.

To win their Play-In game, the Magic will not only need a good showing from Wagner, they will need to control the possessions in the game. Orlando has been turning the ball over a ton even during their win streak. And their game on Wednesday will come down to whether they can protect the ball and gain extra possessions on the offensive glass.

The Orlando Magic's playoff hopes wobbled in a costly loss to the shorthanded Boston Celtics, sending the team to the 8-seed and a road Play-In game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Magic lacked urgency from the beginning despite holding the lead through the first half when the Celtics overwhelmed them with three-point shooting in the third quarter. While Orlando fought back to tie the game in the fourth quarter, they still fell short, suffering the fate they deserved having to go on the road to play their way into the postseason.

It was an unsurprising result considering how much the Magic have struggled all year with consistency in their energy, intensity and execution. The Magic made their bed and have to lie on it as the Celtics proved their championship culture no matter who is in the game for them.

The Orlando Magic dominated the Chicago Bulls with a statement third quarter as they grew their win streak to five games. But with the team feasting on weakened opponents, it begs the question: Are the Magic playoff-ready?

The team still makes its share of mistakes and has its adversities. Orlando has overcome them to put the team in a position to escape the Play-In Tournament on the last day of the season. The Magic have beaten the teams in front of them as they have geared up for the postseason.

All eyes have been on Paolo Banchero the entire season. He has been the center of criticism and frustration throughout the season. Banchero has still had a season that is statistically similar to his 2024 All-Star season.

Some of the criticism is warranted as the young player continues to grow. But he still has the chance to make his statement as the Magic prepare for the postseason.

Banchero is starting to play better and has made some important progress. And Banchero still has a lot to contribute to the team's playoff push.

There will be no avoiding big questions this offseason after a disappointing season. But if the Magic are truly better simply by being healthy, then the Banchero and Franz Wagner pairing will lead the Magic further this postseason.
