La Beata rebelde, contumaz y andariega María Antonia de San José (popularmente conocida como “Mamá Antula”) nace en Santiago del Estero, Virreinato del Rio de la Plata, en 1730, de familia “noble y principal” como se decía en aquel entonces. Desde muy joven comenzó a trabajar con los jesuitas ayudando a organizar los ejercicios espirituales.
Fue Beatificada por el Papa Francisco por su delegado el Cardenal Ángelo Amato en Santiago del Estero el 27 de agosto de 2016.
