This series tries far too hard to elevate a mediocre story into a grand tragedy. The result is almost comical: you have a narrator performing a high-concept monologue about "fate and balance" while the subjects themselves are just... a couple of gang members talking gang things. This desperate attempt to add "prestige" depth leads to a blatant sanitizing of the brothers' behavior, trading the objective facts of their crimes for a romanticized, flowery gloss.
