Meanwhile DJ Flip was hiding in the bushes watching Sphinx Bazel get beat up by the Navy Men. They punched and kicked him but Sphinx Bazel was tough. Flip saw the retired group of Navy Men that he hired to spy standing with Amarah.

Flip heard the Captain say: Tell us where Flip is.

Sphinx Bazel: I told you, I do not know where the man is. I don’t even know how I got way out here in Africa. We were swallowed beneath his floor at his house in the U.S. I don’t remember anything else.

Captain: Swallowed beneath the floor.

Sphinx Bazel: You can believe it or not. That’s what I said.

Captain: Oh I believe you or we wouldn’t be standing here now. We came all this way to get you because I know something’s not right.

Sphinx Bazel: Well, if you’re asking me, you’ve got the wrong man. It’s Flip. As a matter of fact, he’s got the right name. Somehow, he has flipped the whole world around.
The Captain began to walk back and forth with his hands behind his back looking at Sphinx Bazel and looking at Amarah.

He said to Amarah: And you said you saw some - some sea monster.

Amarah: Yes, believe it or not. It happened.

As DJ Flip hid in the Bushes spying on everyone trying to hear what everyone was saying he thought: I have caused Amarah great misery. How did I get into this mess? How do I get out?
DJ Flip sneaked on board the captain’s ship. . He crouched beneath a pile of old tarps on the ship, the salty sea breeze carrying the whispers of the Navy Men across the deck. He could hear the Captain's relentless questioning grow more intense as Sphinx Bazel clung to his story, desperately trying to convince the Captain that he did not know where Flip had vanished to.

Hours passed, and as dusk began to cast long shadows across the deck, Flip felt the tension thicken. The ship was anchored just offshore, the moonlight glinting off the water like scattered diamonds. Flip's heart raced. He needed to act, but how? He couldn't come out of hiding just yet—not with Amarah and Sphinx Bazel in the crosshairs.
