    Christchurch’s long-awaited new stadium, One New Zealand Stadium Te Kaha, is officially open for business.

    The $683 million stadium has been four years in the making, with construction beginning in April 2022 - and it's all set to host Super Rugby Pacific’s Super Round this weekend.

    In a disappointing turn of events, it was announced this morning that the Moana Pasifika Super Rugby franchise will be disbanding at the end of the Super Rugby Pacific season - barring a miracle.

    It is estimated that the cost of running Moana is between $10-$12m per year and the current owners Pasifika Medical Association don't see a viable way they could meet the financial obligations next year.
