Dr Georgakis is the author of "Towards a Theoretical Understanding of Australian Colonial Sport: British Nationalism and Schools," which explores the cultural and social dimensions of colonial-era sport, particularly in the nascent education system, in shaping Australian national identity. There was, needless to say, a heavy emphasis on cricket.
