  • Ep. 314: Why Are So Many Women In Midlife Questioning Their Drinking?
    Apr 16 2026
In midlife, a lot of women start noticing that alcohol hits differently. The glass of wine that used to feel relaxing now messes with your sleep, ramps up your anxiety, leaves you feeling emotionally fried, and makes it harder to bounce back. And if you’ve been stuck in the cycle of moderating, taking breaks, doing Dry January, and then starting over, you are so not alone. In this conversation, I’m talking with Claire Davis, founder of The Midlife Mentors, about why so many women begin questioning their drinking in their 40s and 50s, how hormones and perimenopause can change your relationship with alcohol, and why midlife can become a powerful turning point. If you’re a good mom, a capable woman, the one everyone counts on — and yet you keep waking up at 3 a.m. wondering why you drank again when you said you wouldn’t — this episode is for you. • Ep. 313: End Emotional Outsourcing: Why You Drink to Cope (and How to Stop Looking Outside Yourself to Feel Okay)
    Apr 9 2026
If you’re the woman who holds everything together, manages everyone else’s needs, and still ends the day overwhelmed, resentful, and reaching for wine, this episode is for you. In this conversation, I’m talking with Beatriz Victoria Albina about a pattern that quietly drives so much stress, anxiety, overgiving, and overdrinking: emotional outsourcing. Bea is a UCSF-trained Family Nurse Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing practitioner, Master Certified Somatic Life Coach, and author of End Emotional Outsourcing. Together, we talk about why so many women end up stuck in people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-abandonment — and how to begin breaking that cycle without shame. Casey’s podcasts are what finally pushed me from years of problematic drinking & unhappiness to 28 days (and counting) of glorious sobriety-I don’t feel deprived and I am more calm and have less anxiety than I’ve had in YEARS. Her positive approach and no bullshit personality helped me get through the tough early days. I can’t recommend her podcast enough and she even has a website with free pro tables to help you get started. The BEST!
