I was watching my daughter’s program called Don’t Judge Me I Am A Single Parent one evening as she interviewed a practicing social worker. The knowledgeable woman made a statement that startled me. The discussion was about those who had experienced abuse - she said “If you are a victim you never get over it”. I remember thinking - if that being the case how will that experience influence a person’s future i.e. marriage. Coincidentally just a few days after; I spoke to a friend who discussed some issues she was facing in her marriage.

Before we start listening to the main content of this audiobook, I want to read two scriptures. The first one is from 2 Timothy Chapter 3 and I am going to read a few verses from there.

When I first got saved I used to think, "If God had planned everything why should I bother to plan? If everything that happens is according to God’s will and purposes why should I bother to even think of planning?" That kind of thinking has many problems. Number one: Whilst God is sovereign not everything that happens on Earth is according to his will. That is one of the reasons we pray saying "let your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven." If God's will is always done on Earth we don't need to pray that prayer. Do we?

For many people the wedding day is one of the most important days of one's life. Much effort is put into the wedding day, The financial cost and the stress of the day is huge to say the least. However the joy of being married supersedes all the hassle of the day. Wedding days are wonderful because it is the gateway towards a wonderful married life, a time of love and sharing between two people plus the opportunity to have godly offspring.

I really pray that the Scriptures we are about to read will not only help us to understand that God uses young people, but to help us to change the policies we implement. Paul says we should know no man after the flesh, though we used to know Christ that way we do so no longer. Everyone must be willing to know young people by the spirit; speak to them by the spirit, and create the atmosphere that allows them to function by the spirit of God.
