"The Cloud of Unknowing" is a spiritual guide on contemplative prayer in the late Middle Ages. The underlying message of this work suggests that the way to know God is to abandon consideration of God's particular activities and attributes, and be courageous enough to surrender one's mind and ego to the realm of "unknowing", at which point one may begin to glimpse the nature of God. The text is an anonymous work of Christian mysticism written in Middle English in the latter half of the 14th century.

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is an incredible book. Since 1939 millions have read it to find a path to sobriety and more. One problem though is seeing all that this book has to offer, especially with the 12 step recovery process because it is written in the language of 1939. After hundreds of hours in Big Book studies and sponsoring dozens of others through it's pages, This is offered as an explanation in today's language that will hopefully help you see more of what this process involves.
