Foster Bro Code

I'm headed back to Riverton and the foster brothers I left behind. But this homecoming isn't going to be sweet. I left without a word to them after getting outed and disowned. The fences don't just need mending. They need rebuilding. My brothers and I had a code to always be there for one another, and I broke it. Now, I have the chance to step up and help them with their floundering business. To prove myself and make good.

I'm the wild brother. I live for the moment. For instant gratification. And Deputy Dalton Harvey will bring me a lot of gratification. He's fighting our attraction, but I see the lust in his eyes. I don't care that he's slapped cuffs on me before and probably will again. It'll just make it all the sweeter when he breaks.

Controlling the world around me is the only way I feel safe. Childhood abuse has left me scarred inside and out. But control makes me feel strong. Unfortunately, I can't control everything I want—including my body's panic response to touch. It's hard to share affection with my brothers, much less anyone else. I've all but given up on a romantic relationship.
