Heartbreak Dreams

Life has been a little hard on Waylon Evarts. Growing up in a place like Harlan, Kentucky, isn't easy. His mom is a waitress at a local diner, and his estranged father is hooked on meth. He and his mom live in a rundown trailer they inherited from his grandparents. It's paid for and on some land, but they're not living well. That is until he meets a roughneck boy named Scooter who's just moved in up the road from him. With his ripped jeans, tank top, and a mountain accent as thick as mud, Scooter is the picture of masculinity.

Life's been going well for Waylon since his Mom got a promotion. Four years ago, they picked up and moved across state lines in search of a better life. Despite the changes, they never lost sight of their roots. With Scooter working hard, too, the boys almost have enough money to get married and start a life of their own. When Scooter gets a call, it's news that could change their lives forever. Are they strong enough to brave the storms coming their way, or will all their hopes and dreams end in heartbreak?

When Waylon's mom, Loretta, receives an offer for their old homeplace, they face a difficult decision. Loretta is ready to say goodbye, but Waylon clings to memories from a different time. Can they come together before the offer expires, or will they hold on to what they have?
