I truly had no idea what I was getting into with this story and it truly did not disappoint! Two men lost in different ways find solace in a cage. Lucas had no one and was completely abandon encounters a“beast” and the rest is history! The way these two were able to build a foundation without sharing words often was a skill Rina Saint wrote flawlessly. The spice in This book for sure spiced! I really loved the dynamic between Lucas and Roman. It was great to see the shift between them individually as well as together. When Roman is able to take Lucas to safety you weren’t sure who the “villain” would be. I was rather surprised when I got To that point. Roman going back to his family set up a great foundation for the next book which I eagerly Look forward to that audio when it comes out!

The narration of this story was perfect. I’ve heard this pairing before in another series and knew this one would be great. The way both Oscar and Sean were able to fully come into the role of these characters was amazing. Sean Masters honestly can be in so many different stories and still nails his roles. The way he portrayed the beast was fantastic. Oscar Reyes he was a perfect Lucas. The way he was able to narrate all of Lucas vulnerabilities and struggles in this transition of his life he never expected. It was perfect. These two could not have been casted any better!

Possession is the first audiobook in Rina Saint’s Constantine Brothers series. This is an MM dark, captivity/forced proximity romance, and it had me riveted from the very beginning. Definitely check the triggers, because there are certainly some very dark themes involved in this story. But beyond the triggers is an unlikely love story that both literally and figuratively saves the lives of these two remarkable and resilient men. Roman Constantine was kidnapped and sold into captivity. He had to quite literally fight for his life on a regular basis and was treated as if he were nothing more than an animal. In order to survive, Roman had to sacrifice his humanity. They wanted an animal, so he gave them one. He stopped speaking entirely, communicating only through grunts and growls. He’s known now as Beast and can scarcely recall his life before. When Lucas is thrown into his cell to help care for his injuries after his latest fight, Roman is not happy about it at first but soon starts to see Lucas as his. Lucas has been told his entire life that he’s nothing, that he’s worthless. He’s never had anyone truly care for him or treat him like he mattered. No one has ever chosen him. Despite all that, he still has a caring spirit, and it turns out Lucas is just what Roman needs to begin rediscovering his humanity. He also gives Roman the strength to escape and take back his life, because he will do whatever it takes to keep Lucas safe. Honestly, they really save each other. They found love, acceptance, and hope in the most hopeless of places. Their love story is not pretty. It’s dark, and it’s brutal, and it’s primal. But it’s also healing, and it’s perfect for them. Roman will probably always be a bit beastly, but Lucas loves both sides of him—the beast and the man. And they will always choose each other. I loved these characters and this story! It shows us that even in the darkest of places, love can shine a light… and inspire more than a little spice. 😉

The duet-style narration from Sean Masters and Oscar Reyes brought this story to life in all its brutal beauty. Sean Masters as Roman was absolutely brilliant! His deep, raspy voice was perfect for Roman, and his performance is packed with a raw emotion and passion that is 100% on brand for this character. And Oscar Reyes hit it out of the park with his voicing of Lucas! He absolutely made this character real for me with his deeply emotional, intimate, and layered performance. This audio is everything a dark, MM romance should be, and I cannot wait for the next audiobook in the series!

I love a dark, brutal, unhinged romance & when you make it an MM dark romance that's even better! This dark captive romance follows Lucas & (The Beast) who after unfortunate circumstances end up locked away together.

The duet narration for this audiobook was fantastic! Sean & Oscar did an impeccable job bringing this story along with each character to life! Seans deep voice truly brought Roman's primal side to life as well as well as his only soft for Lucas side! Oscar was the perfect match & did an amazing job bringing our sweet & patient Lucas to life as well! I can't wait to continue this series!

If you love dark mafia romance with primal vibes & a "he's mine" trope that will give you goosebumps look no further!

Audiobook update: This book is another fantastic audio produced by Blue Nose Audio! This is narrated by Sean Masters and Oscar Reyes - what an amazing duo together! I think I loved this book even more after listening to it and I didn't think I could love it more. These narrators really brought out the pain, the suffering, all the tenderness and emotions for me! I was in tears half the time because I could just FEEL it all. My poor guys! All they went through and suffered is narrated beautifully by this team. Sean Masters has been a fave for awhile, but I believe this may be a first read by Oscar Reyes and it won't be my last!! I hope they are also narrating the next book in this series!

5 - I am always so happy when I see that this author has a new book coming out and like previous books, I just devoured this. There is just something about the way this author writes romance with darker elements that really works for me (though I am typically a low angst reader). This is a captivity romance and the forced proximity aspect along with the non-verbal MC means that the way to the development of romantic feelings is very intense. Roman (The Beast) is forced to fight and in the course of fighting, he is injured a lot. Lucas has been betrayed into captivity by his stepfather - his role is to tend to Roman. As a result of their circumstances, they are forced to be together and to learn to communicate with one another. For the Beast, Lucas becomes his in every way. For Lucas, Roman gives him all the attention and protectiveness he has never before received. I love their darkness and how their emotions develop in this horrible place as well as after. I had tears in my eyes many times during this read - just the..sweetness, I guess, in their understanding of each other, how the "beast" just needed Lucas so much, how he was so soft for Lucas, so kind and protective of him....Gah! And in turn, how tenderly Lucas cared for the Beast and took care of him in so many ways. Their story, these MCs, and their love definitely got to me. Also - the spice was super hot!! This book is on the shorter side and fast paced too - be prepared for a wild ride! Loved it and can't wait for the next book.
