don't often leave reviews, but this title was just beautiful. so many time an I used to stories turning south because of something, but this one just holds a short and beautiful love story. I love when a book can make me cry from the ending and it did just that.

I picked up Rafts on a whim, seeing a recommendation that showed up right after finishing another novel and really wanting to get more. After some time and mulling over what to listen to next, I finally decided to start Rafts, listening to it on my morning and evening commutes. I really regret not stumbling on it sooner because it is one of the most touching stories I've ever read. The growth that our characters go through is amazing considering their relatively different backgrounds and I am so glad I was able to experience it finally. My only issue is having it end, it was always a highlight coming back to Kunet and Shima to begin and end my day.

Nico did an amazing job with his performance. He took his time with the content, putting effort into injecting emotion into our characters and doing a fantastic job with their individual voices. I sincerely hope that he continues to do audiobook reads, because he really hit it out of the park for me - I'd instantly jump on any story he happens to do in the future, doubly so if it happens to be from Utunu. (make sure you go follow them both on social media)

I tend to come back to stories I haven't read/listened to in a while and I'm really looking forward to experiencing this wonderful journey once again.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting to get sucked into such a short story so much, But I fell in love with the characters from the start to the point it felt like it was there on the island with them.
