After years of abuse in a loveless relationship, Leo Grayson secretly packs up his life and heads west to Varcross, Oregon. But there’s a problem: Varcross doesn’t exist—well, not in Oregon.

Strange lights over the highway send Leo careening into an impossible realm with no way to escape. Loved the Entire story even tho there was only 1 nsfe scene and other side ones ones it didn't change the story, the story was a perfect mix of Fantasy and Suspense.

The Varcross Key had me hooked from the first mysterious whisper to the final fiery twist. The story blends adventure, intrigue, and just the right amount of spice—enough to make things interesting without turning into a late-night soap opera. Skuru’s narration is spot-on, giving every character personality and depth. It’s the kind of fantasy tale that feels like a dragon hoard of good storytelling—rich, satisfying, and leaving you wanting just one more chapter.

Loved the narrator’s style (hope he does more) the book had a unique take on werewolves, and the story was very intriguing.

Like many that have warned about it, there are some pretty dark topics involved in the book including abusive relationships and violence, so just a warning to those who don't enjoy reading about darker issues.

I picked this up after scrolling through Ursa Major awards and didn't really have any idea what I would be getting into. Starting off, I'll be honest Skuru was a little jarring with his energy, if that makes sense, but as the story deepened, I think that he did a great job with giving each character their own unique flair that made me enjoy each one of them.
Every character of the little family that would grow were fantastic and to be honest, I wished I could have spent more time with them in their world. My only gripe is that the last few chapters felt rushed as we skipped through time wrapping up loose ends so to speak and we ended after a huge change that would likely have major consequences and left me wanting even more.
Even though there was a pretty good close to the book, I hope that there's another in the works to deal with the issues that showed up near the end because after getting immersed in a world like this, it's hard to not get stuck wanting more, and who wouldn't want more werewolf drama.
