When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.

Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s 14 years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires. As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed - and is vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

I generally enjoy Maya Banks' work, but this one left me a little cold. I didn't like Gabe very much as a character and, while I thought I'd grow to appreciate him more as the story progressed, I didn't. I didn't mind Adam Paul's narration - he does speak rapidly but to be honest, that was a plus in a book I just wanted to get out of the way.

Not Maya Banks at her best

I read book 3 before I read this book(book 1). If I had read this book first, I would not have read any of the rest of this trilogy. In this story, the male love interest, Gabe, does everything we are warned about watching out for in someone we, or our friends, daughters, or any women are warned to watch out for. I had a really icky feeling in my stomach thru most of this book. I don't care how much a woman thinks she loves a man. No one should ever think its ok for a man to treat her like Gabe treated Mia thru 80 % of this book. I would personally, never have been able to look at myself in the mirror if I had allowed someone to treat me this way. And what is it with rectal sex? Would a straight man think it arousing to have to walk around with a plug stuck up their butt while they were at work? I just don't get it! All I can think about during those segments of the story is how un-hygienic this is and all the medical issues that can happen. Most of the treatment of Mia by Gabe would make alarm bells go off in the minds of most women. I found it unbelievable that any woman would sign a contract such as the one that Gabe supposedly insisted all his women sign! Maya Banks books usually portray strong women but boy this one really missed the mark.

Can you say "control Freak!"

i read other reviews that almost had me turn away from listening to this book and im so glad i didnt take the word of the others. the story was great the narration is the only part i agree about it could have been much better .

gabe was an asshole but the nasty word spoken in some reviews i didnt see it. he was a dom and those were his kinks and she was his sub and she discovered she liked the kinks as well to some degree. i really didnt like how some people painted the book to be some horrible disgusting sex life when it was mild to some of the books i have read/listened to.

maya did a great job at writing this book and if your into dom/sub books with a little pain with your pleasure this is a good fit.

im curious for the next book and wondering what exactly is up with jace and ash about to find out now!

good book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would find another narrator I don't know if it's the fact that a man is trying to do a book which is mostly a female character but it didn't work for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rush?

Liked the story and the ending was great.

Story no so bad narration ordinary
