The story of the Skeleton King and his stitched-up Queen

A dark reimagining of a Halloween favorite…

My life was taken. My body pieced back together. My world forever changed. When I awake in the Mid Hallows with no memory of who I was before, I am thrust into a realm of nightmares and terror. Lost, defenseless. Until I find him. It’s foolish to trust anyone who dwells in the land of monsters. But after Kel crosses my path, my defenses crumble. The mysterious monster hunter keeps me safe, but what secrets lie beneath the bones painted upon his handsome face? Why am I really here?

The first book in this series was really good. The second book didn’t disappoint at all. The absolute smuttyness, a great storyline, an annoying villain, and an unexpected hero. Totally worth the purchase.

Great smutty short story

Narrators were perfect and the story was really cool! Definitely one of the more unique books I’ve listened to!

Such a fun book!

This was such a good, quick, and spicy listen. Perfect for spooky season.

I absolutely loved the way Sera and Kel matched each other's energy and ruled the Hallows together. And omg that ending was super fun, sweet, spicy, and everything in between. I absolutely loved Bones!

M.K. Blackwood and Corvin King were absolutely phenomenal in this narration. They took all the changes in tones and feelings and performed them spectacularly.

Quote: “When I saw you, I thought you were an angel. The light sent here to brighten the darkness that has surrounded me all these centuries. When I saw you, something illuminated within me, Sera. When I saw you, my first thought was that I'd never see any creature in the entirety of the mortal world or any of the levels of the Hallows as beautiful as you.”

“Sometimes it takes a monster to hunt a monster.”

This story was just amazing as well as the characters!!! This definitely gave me Jack & Sally vibes. The plot was very dark and unique but overall I just loved this story. Can’t wait to get a physical copy to have as my trophy book collection!!! This is a must read and listen!!! If you haven’t you’re missing out!!!

Just phenomenal!!!

I've said it before and will say it again - Corvin King makes the PERFECT monster!

This was a great spicy read that still had enough plot to keep me going. That first chapter had me hooked for sure - gross worm doctor? Check. FMC with amnesia? Check. A room full of tortured/cut up women? Check.

Sera wakes up in said gross worm doctor's lab, escapes, immediately finds herself in danger, and is saved by "Kel". They journey back to his realm, being attacked again by monsters where Sera gains the nickname "monster bait" (which I will take over ANY nickname that starts with "little" like stop it) and she finds out he's the Skeleton King.

There's a twist I wasn't expecting that definitely had me gasping out loud and the epilogue had me CACKLING for multiple reasons. Kel standing up with Bones attached to his ribs almost made me do a spit take! And "Bone Daddy" will never have the same meaning. The banter between the two characters was so great and even though it's not a super long book I was already feeling for the characters by the end.

Will definitely be reading more from Violet Taylor!
