The Heathen:

My father, the prophet, preaches about the blood of Christ, but it’s a different blood that coats his hands.

Now that I’m no longer the broken girl on her knees praying for salvation, I’m on a path of vengeance against him and the rest of our revolting line.

They were once my family. Now they are my enemies.

And the men, they underestimate women.

Underestimate me.

But I am death. Forged by my father and his sins.

Their deaths, my resurrection.

Their destruction, my rebirth.

Because the only way for me to live is for all of them to die.

The Bonetti Bastards:

We watch as she ends lives.

We watch her when she thinks she’s alone.

We are always there, in the darkness, waiting…Waiting for the perfect time to claim what’s ours, our Heathen, our sanctuary, Our little killer who will burn the world around her.

And if she’s not careful, she will succumb to the flames that follow her.

But we will save her.

And she will learn once again to…Obey.

Worship.

And serve.

But only us. Only ever us.

Destruction is the first book in the Bonetti Bastards series.

Every bit of this was clear, a joy to listen to, and overall a perfect representation to Chelle's writing. Each narrator should be beyond proud of how they brought these characters to life. I couldn't stop listening to this.

This is one of those stories that sucks you in. The casting for this one has my little ears so happy. They did this book justice in a way I can't fully explain. This is a book you will fully enjoy to read with your eyes...but if you are an audio book kinda person..you will not be sorry with this one. Every narrator not only understood the assignment, they brought these characters to life in a way that is a true nod to their talents.

If you read Lunatic, you'll know that Heather is a character who has gone through a lot. Destruction taps into her trauma as well as the trauma of three brothers. One more than the other two, but I digress.

Amanda Willow brought all the emotions of Heather in a way that captivated me. The way she expressed the hurt, anger, joy and strength of Heather was really beautiful in a way that reminds me why she's one of my favorite narrators.

Joe Arden is known for being able to tap into an unhinged character but with Carter he was able to be a little softer. It was nice to see how easily he can go from a character that is completely off their rocker to someone who has been hurt most of his life. Someone that's trying to connect with another person that's not one of his brothers.

James Cassidy has this voice that instantly gets my attention. He's this wonderful balance of rough around the edges or a complete marshmallow. Him voicing Killian was top notch because he brought so much to this character. This is the book where Killian is pulled in different directions in his own mind on if he wants what his brothers have with Heather or if she's a danger to them all. He did wonderful bringing that conflict to light and that ENDING?!

Then we have the ever talented Sean Masters. I have listened to this man voice so many characters. Maybe I'm biased but him voicing Knox was perfection. Every single conflict, every emotion, every bit of dialogue he hit it out of the park. Knox is the one that seems to be a voice of reason between his brothers and that's not an easy spot to be in. Sean Masters did a great job with all the emotions.

The ending of this book is just like when Chelle was teasing us on the cast. Diabolical.

This book is dark. Dark and spicy. Most definitely check the trigger warnings listed in the beginning of the book before reading.

This story centers around Heather, who was raised in a cult, and has taken it on herself to do away with everyone involved with it--mainly, she is after her father. She's taken by Carter, one of the three identical triplets. There is also Knox and Killian. Knox and Carter immediately fall for her while Killian does his best to resist her. I actually enjoyed her relationship with Killian the most. The other two were way too instalusty. There was no emotional connection between them.

This ends in a big cliffhanger, too.

I listened to the audio narrated in multi-cast by James Cassidy, Joe Arden, Sean Masters and Amanda Willow. What an amazing cast! James Cassidy is one of my favorites! Plus, Joe Arden can do unhinged characters like no other.

Thank you to the author and Blue Nose Audio for the advanced listeners copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great narrations!

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!
This is one of those audiobooks that you dive in KNOWING it’s going to be a BANGER! It was chaos and vengeance wrapped in audio. Just look at that all-star cast of narrators… Amanda Willow, Joe Arden, James Cassidy, and Sean Masters brought all the feels, emotions and let’s be real, fucked-up-ness. Their stellar performances were raw, detailed, and brought so much life to the brutal words from the pages.

I freaking LOVED the crossovers from the Bonetti Brothers and Lunatic. There are so many things I want to say about this storyline and the characters, but everything seems to be a possible spoiler, so I will leave you with this…

Destruction is a dark, why choose romance with a strong, sassy FMC who is out for revenge. She has a savior complex and is determined to help those who cannot help themselves. She may be a tad insane too (did you read Lunatic). Accidentally getting caught on the land of the three Bonetti brothers turns out to be intense, dangerous, and not what she expected. These brothers are possessive, obsessive, and a little unhinged themselves, so things don’t quite go as planned. The spice is spicing and forget about a slow bun, because it doesn’t exist with this bunch. That ending!!! Of course, it ended with a cliffhanger, so now we wait. As mentioned before, read the trigger warnings.

I highly recommend reading Lunatic before starting this series.
Thank you @chellerosedarkromance for giving me the opportunity to read and review this e-arc. (Originally reviewed on 4.17.26) this is updated to include the audiobook review.
This audiobook is narrated by Amanda Willow, Sean Masters, Joe Arden and James Cassidy. Holy crew on this series. These men are absolutely fire!
Knox - Sean Masters. Carter - Joe Arden. Killian - James Cassidy.
In this book, we meet Heather who we first met in Lunatic as a patient in the Wellard Asylum. This is her story along with the Bonetti triplets, Carter, Knox and Killian. This was a VERY fast paced love at first sight story except for Killian. Killian didn’t care for her and wanted her gone. The physical relationship progressed extremely quickly but there’s no emotion relationship. Yes, Carter may be in love with her — but there was really no build on it IMO.
This book ends on a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER that destroyed me. I felt SO bad for Carter!
