Arthur Goldwag received a BA from Kenyon College (1979) and briefly attended Brown University as a PhD candidate in English literature (1979-80). Between 1980 and 2002 he worked in book publishing, including stints at the Scott Meredith Literary Agency, Random House, the New York Review of Books, and Book-of-the-Month Club. He has freelanced as a developmental editor and writer since. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
