A Southern California journalist, Barbara Pronin took turns as an actress, a probation officer, a substitute teacher, a news editor. and a public relations director, all while writing six mysteries - three as Barbara Pronin and three as Barbara Nickolae (written with Nickolae Gerstner) - as well as two non-fiction books and hundreds of magazine articles. When she isn't writing, she's probably reading, doing the NY Times crossword puzzle in ink, or struggling mightily at the piano. Her first WW II novel, the award-winning "Winter's End," endorsed by best-selling author Faye Kellerman as "a page-turner with characters that steal your heart and soul," will be followed in September 2026 with the second in Pronin's World War II trilogy, the romantic adventure, "A Moon at the End of the World, set partially among the exotic bazaars and shifting sands of Morocco in the heart of the Sahara.
