Chiquita Mullins Lee is a writer/performer living in Columbus, Ohio. Formerly of Atlanta she earned her bachelor's from Vassar College, and master's degrees from Ohio University and Ohio State. She won individual artist/excellence awards in fiction, playwriting, and non-fiction from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and Ohio Arts Council. She was writer-in-residence at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA and at the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap, GA. Her nonfiction, fiction, and poetry are published in national literary journals, she was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, appears on the Long Street Cultural Wall in Columbus, and hosted the Emmy award-winning TRADITIONS produced by Think-TV/Dayton. She writes and performs with Columbus' Wild Women Writing and performed in THE SHAKESPEARE CLUB by Dave Carley and LOST LAKE by David Auburn. She portrayed Venus in William Shakespeare's VENUS AND ADONIS and appeared in P.A.S.T. Productions' SISTERS by Marsha Jackson. Her critically acclaimed play, PIERCE TO THE SOUL premiered at CATCO and toured Ohio with A Portable Theatre Company. At New Covenant Believers Church, she leads Word Warriors Creative Writing Ministry. With Carmella Van Vleet, she authored YOU GOTTA MEET MR. PIERCE, illustrated by Jennifer Mack-Watkins and published by Kokila/Penguin.
