Christina Van Dyke is Term Professor of Philosophy at Barnard College of Columbia University and Emerita Professor of Philosophy at Calvin College. She specializes in medieval philosophy and the philosophy of gender. Much of her recent research combines these two areas and challenges the idea that women didn't do philosophy in the Middle Ages. Christina has also written extensively on Thomas Aquinas's views of human nature and happiness, and on the ethics of eating (particularly gendered eating). She lives in New York City with her husband, who is on board with her filling the apartment with plants but remains skeptical about her designs to become an urban beekeeper.
