Jesús Ilundáin-Agurruza is Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Linfield College (Oregon), where he received the 2011-2012 Samuel H. Graf Faculty Achievement Award and was 2008-2009 Allen & Pat Kelley Faculty Scholar. In 2013-2015 he served as president of the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport (IAPS). Most recently, he has published Skillful Striving: Holism and the Cultivation of Excellence in Sports and. His other publications also include numerous articles and book reviews in Sports, Ethics, and Philosophy, Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences, the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport, Fair Play, and other journals, as well as many chapters for anthologies on sport philosophy, risk sports, martial arts, education, comparative philosophy (esp. Japanese philosophy), phenomenology, and various sports (sailing, soccer, hunting). He also co-edited a book on cycling and philosophy (with M Austin).
