Joe Milliken has been a music journalist, author, freelance writer, and editor for over 25 years. A lifelong music fan (though not a musician), his creative outlet became writing, first as a local reporter and freelancer, then working as a sports and arts editor and then a music website publisher, and now a twice-published author. His first book – Let’s Go! Benjamin Orr and The Cars – published in 2018 by Rowman & Littlefield is the critically acclaimed biography about the Cleveland-born Orr, co-founder, co-lead singer and bassist of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band from Boston, The Cars. Milliken’s latest biography, Livin’ On The Edge! The Life and Times of Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, chronicles the life of the legendary guitarist from another Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band from Boston, Aerosmith. Nearly five years in the making, Livin’ On The Edge! puts Perry in the spotlight to reveal not only the humble and dedicated musician responsible - along with his band mates - for some of rock’s most memorable and enduring music, but also his adventures as a solo artist, band leader and entrepreneur.
