Born in Lower Walton, Warrington in 1963, I attended St Thomas’ School in Stockton Heath and then Botelor Grammar School. I left to go to University in 1981and graduated as a teacher of history. This job first took me to Rochdale, then Kuwait and for 15 years in around London. Since retiring I have been able to concentrate on researching and writing about local history.
