Jonathan M. Bryant has both a J.D. and a Ph.D in history. He has built a successful career in non-fiction, including essays, articles in anthologies, and two prizewinning books. His most recent history book, "Dark Places of the Earth: The Voyage of the Slave Ship Antelope," was a finalist for the 2016 Los Angeles Times book prize in History. He has appeared on C-SPAN Book TV and most recently in the PBS documentary "Courtmaker: John Marshall and the Forging of America’s Supreme Court." Dr. Bryant knows that fiction is a powerful vessel for telling truth about the human condition. His novella, "Blue Nude," is now available on Amazon. His historically accurate noir novel, "Neutrality Act," was a finalist for the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Award and is available on Amazon. "Slaver's Apprentice," won a 2025 Royal Palm Literary Award from the Florida Writers Association and will be published by Northampton House Press in October of 2026.
