LISA STEELE is an author, 5th generation chicken keeper, media personality, and founder of the popular Fresh Eggs Daily brand. She initially learned to cook for her Girl Scout badge, which led to a childhood of cutting recipes out of magazines and gluing them onto index cards (some of which she still has!). She honed her technique and cemented her love of cooking by watching Julia, Martin Yan, Jacques Pepin, and Sara Moulton; then later Martha, Ina, and Rachel Ray...and of course, her Mom. A self-taught cook and baker (unless you count the Food Network!), Lisa has earned a Recipe Development certification from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School and is the author of The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook which features more than 100 of her favorite egg recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, was named an Amazon Editor's Pick Cookbook of the Month, and received a Publishers Weekly starred review. Her second cookbook In Season celebrates fresh, seasonal produce and eggs in more than 125 simple recipes packed with flavor. Lisa is currently working on her third cookbook which is due out September 2027. She has also written 7 popular books on raising backyard flocks and is working on her third cookbook which is due on in the fall of 2027. Lisa has been featured on NPR's Here & Now, HGTV's Martha Knows Best, the Hallmark Home & Family Show, Dr. Oz, and The View, and has performed live in-studio cooking demonstrations on NY Living PIX11, CA Live, and KTLA. She has also been featured in the New York Times, Country Living, Food & Wine, The Farmers Almanac, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fox News, CNN, Parade, People, Woman's World, and Martha dot com among others. Lisa currently lives on a small farm in the Maine woods with her husband, their two corgis, and flock of chickens, ducks, and geese where she produces and hosts the award-winning show "Welcome to my Farm" which airs on CreateTV, more than 300 PBS stations nationwide, and New Zealand and Australia public television.
