Tempest X is an author based in Newark, NJ, with roots in Reading, PA. Of Black, Cherokee, German, and Irish descent, her multicultural heritage deeply informs her work, which often examines American history and Critical Race Theory. A former music executive and jazz singer, Tempest has a natural affinity for music-based projects but prefers to let her imagination—and the whispers of her ancestors—guide her creativity. As she says, "Boxes are boring." Specializing in screenplays, fiction, nonfiction, content adaptation, and memoirs, Tempest is currently co-writing Whoo Kid's (50 Cents DJ & G-Unit member) memoir.
