The countdown to Christmas has never been scarier than in this internationally bestselling holiday horror novel from Per Jacobsen.

Hoping to bring his family closer together, Adam Gray arranges a vacation in a remote cabin on a snowy mountain. Things take a dark turn, however, when someone starts leaving gifts in the Christmas stocking mounted on the barn door.

Each morning brings something new, and with every passing day, the contents become more terrifying. Soon, the family makes a spine-chilling realization: they’ve been dragged into a deranged game of Secret Santa, and if they want to survive, they will have to fight.

I had to stop listening after a few chapters. I can't read about animals being tortured. Not for me.

Overall the multiple perspectives isn’t anything new as many other authors have been doing this for quite some time now which brings more to the table of the reader’s experience. The book leaves it open ended so you don’t know the kidnapper nor his reasoning behind his actions. I think if we knew why he did what he did or knew more about his backstory or upbringing it would’ve put more depth into the story. I’d say it was an okay read. It wasn’t exciting or a page turner. It was interesting but not the 😱 kinda storyline. Would I recommend it to anyone. Not likely. I wouldn’t deter anyone from reading it if they asked about it either. But you know how the killers on the movies Halloween and Friday the 13th we know their background so we know the reason for their behavior. It’s like a sick vindictication. Sometimes we do ned to know more about the sicko even if we never see his face or know his name. 💁🏻‍♀️

Loved the advent days inlaid into the chapters

The story started slow. It took a while to build and once it did it was good story. The ending was underwhelming. Please read the afterword to understand.
