The delightful Miss Marple is ensnared in A Caribbean Mystery when a retired military man sparks her curiosity with a photograph and a strange story of a murderer

As Miss Marple sat basking in the Caribbean sunshine, she felt mildly discontented with life. True, the warmth eased her rheumatism, but here in paradise nothing ever happened.

Eventually, her interest was aroused by an old soldier’s yarn about a murderer he had known. Infuriatingly, just as he was about to show her a snapshot of this acquaintance, the Major was suddenly interrupted. A diversion that was to prove fatal.

Aside from this mystery being by far the easiest to solve out of most of the Miss marple's, Emilia foxes voices for the story were both seemingly racist and distracting. Overall the story had the same charm that Agatha Christie never ceases to bring but within the first hour I knew who the murderer was. And Emilia foxes voices were extremely annoying.

the voices ruined the story

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I have been working my way through the entire Ms Marple series. This one was a fun departure from the usual characters and locations of her home town. Very interesting and engaging story and very well narrated.

Loved it

I loved this book. Miss Marple is an understandably beloved character, and she shows off her best qualities in this highly entertaining story. Excellent plot executed with skill. Kind of makes me wish Miss Marple visited the Caribbean more often!

One of Christie's Very Best!

Mystery wise not a thriller but a more laid back Caribbean adventure into characters one meets on a vacation. Murder comes early and is easy to guess but still fun to go along for a ride with other loose ends. I like the character of raphael, who is so different from any Christie character in any other book

Easy mystery with a few interesting characters
