The King is dead. Long live the King. And death to his enemies.

Bargained away to Dawn Court, Kat must play the part of a helpless human bewitched by the Day King. But beneath the veneer of submission, she's playing a far more dangerous game—spying for Dusk Court, and for the one person who holds her heart: Bastian.

Separated from the woman he loves, Bastian has no time to rage against fate—or his queen. With his city on the brink of collapse and war brewing, he must uncover the truth before a devastating betrayal shatters everything he's fought to protect.

As the enemy's hold on Kat tightens, secrets from the past threaten to unravel the courts' fragile alliance. Every step brings the couple closer to a deadly choice: risk everything for love—or lose it all to the lies that bind them.

With danger, desire, and dark secrets, A Promise of Lies is the epic conclusion to Shadows of the Tenebris Court, an addictive romantasy trilogy ideal for fans of morally grey shadow daddies and heroines who refuse to give up—even when death seems set to win.

I was really looking forward to this audiobook after enjoying the first two books. A Promise of Lies delivers a decent end to the series with a good storyline that kept me interested. That said, the narration fell a bit flat—especially the male narrator, who often sounded like he was ending every sentence with a question. It pulled me out of the story at times. Overall, a solid wrap-up, but the narration took away from the experience a bit.

Good Story, But Narration Missed the Mark

I don’t know how I can stress that I am rarely surprised by plot twists but this last book managed to surprise me! The end was perfect in so many ways.

Absolutely Perfect

It's the last book of the series, no cliffhangers here. I thought it was good overall. it's been nice to see Kat grow overtime & to finally get to Bastion being a shadow daddy 👻 loved it. I did enjoy the series.

Unexpected twists!

i will like my credit back. the MMC is weak and boring. watched his own father be killed. Has completely refused to see the truth about Brea. This is boring DULL and a waste of time. BUT
This author know how to wrap up a fantasy book, so 3 stars

This trilogy is one of the best and most creative romantic fantasies I’ve read in this genre. 100 out of 10! The male narration is so bad so that I thought it was some sort of AI recording. It was so difficult to listen to without cringing through each of his parts. I’m sure I gained 6 new wrinkles from all the frowning. Other than that, highly recommend and worth suffering through for something original

Amazing story! Make narration is horrible 😞
