Two years ago, Fever Crumb escaped the war-torn city of London. Now she arrives in the extraordinary city of Mayda, where buildings ascend the cliffs on rails, and a mysterious recluse is building a machine that can fly. Although I was initially disappointed Philip Reeve did not narrate the second book Jenny Agutter did an incredible job.

The world Philip Reeve has created continues to deepen and enrichen- but he makes sure to only choose stories from the world that seem to need to be told. There is a great economy in his writing and you are able to see the world through the lens of each character as they become the narrator.

Lovely descriptions of possible future cultures and technology! Beautifully narrated! A sad end but fits in a way. There is a third book which ends this series and it is well worth listening to.

A wonderful sequel to Fever Crumb book

By far, for me, this was the best of the trilogy. Usually middle books are weak. I liked the character development. Sadly, scientifically, the tidal wave is no more realistic than the other science and mechanics. But youth aren't supposed to notice, right?

Best of the trilogy

Such a flourishing story succeeding its predecessor in a new yet familiar way. Can't wait to finish there trilogy!

Loved the book Fever Crumb by Philip Reeve. It was a wonderfully engrossing story that takes you into a world with steam punk styling and thought--fully fleshed and engaging with our intrepid heroine leading us on --to the end. It is a fun time and I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Steam Punk personified
