Milena intertwines the ice queen and age gap “tropes” so perfectly that you wonder how a mind could transform words into such an intriguing, heartfelt, and addicting novel unlike any I have read!!! Wish I could give this book all the stars in the world!!

I first discovered Milena McKay with The Headmistress series- which turned out to be in my top 3 sapphic series of all time. (That, in itself, says something because I’ve read and listened to hundreds of pieces of sapphic literature.)
A few weeks ago I listened to The Delicate Things We Make and decided to immediately purchase another McKay novel.
This one did not disappoint. With these longer works, I do tend to get a bit impatient, especially when I want the two MC’s to get together already. But the wait is well worth it, the author illustrating her vast understanding of the human psyche, and it makes the ending all the more enjoyable.
McKay hasn’t let me down yet, and I’m certainly compelled to keep gobbling up her words.

Well written and very well narrated. Deliciously addictive. I look forward to my morning commute to work everyday just so I can listen to the slow burn that is Audrey and Neve. Great work! Can’t wait to listen to more novels by Milena.
