With Erryn having sacrificed herself to save those lost in the disaster of the Emerald Caverns, it falls to an of-age Peter to take action when new reincarnates are born.

I've read the rest of this series and there have always been some odd parts. Think of your standard comedy movie "person being stupid for no reason" trope. But for some reason, halfway through this book the main character loses a bet, that he instigates, and has to crossdress. This seemed like a harmless but seemingly funny situation until it became very inappropriate and obviously sexual. I don't care what kinks the author has, but I don't need to read your sexual fantasies in a non-sexual series.

Oh, I put 1 star instead of 2 once I remembered that a major plot point of the first third of the book was the female lead became "of age".
