I didn't discover Harry Grimm until May 2023; I enjoyed Grimm Up North so I read the next one; and the next one; and the one after that. Okay, now I'm officially addicted to the cake, the cheese, the dales, the dogs, the sheep--the works. This is Number 18 in the series and I've sucked them all up! Ashes of Betrayal is exactly like all the others--sometimes a bit maudlin, but charming and entertaining. Love the characters and this series. But I was surprised at the very last moment. I could have anticipated it, but I was guessing in the wrong direction. Staying tuned for Number 19!

Another good Harry Grimm adventure. This was not my favorite, however. I sort of lost the plot for a while and had to rewind a bit to catch up. That may have just been me though. The story was good and the narration superb as usual. I loved the cameos from Logan and Tyler.

Even the 18th book is still good.

This book is fantastic, exciting, funny, personal, heartbreaking, and more. A feature is that the detectives are not miserable, but real.

I have grown to love every one in the Dales. It’s like visiting with old friends. Gatward’s stories and our narrator’s absolute brilliance are an unbeatable combination. “Please, sirs, I’d like some more!”

Best Grimm Yet!
