When you get up in the morning, the last thing you expect to see is a murdered guy hanging outside your window. Things like that tend to draw the attention of the local police, and when you're squatting in your parents' old house until you can afford to buy it, another thing you can't afford is the attention of the cops.

Oh yeah. Hi. My name is Pet. It's not my real name, but it's the only one you're getting. Things like names are important these days.

And it's not so much that I'm Pet. I am a pet. A human pet: I belong to the two Behindkind fae and the pouty vampire who just moved into my house.

It's not weird, I promise - well, it is weird, yeah. But it's not weird weird, you know?

I was looking for something different without all the soppy in love with a Fae story and this fit the bill! Mysterious and interesting. I still have questions, but not in a “I’m not satisfied way.” More of a I can’t wait for the next book way. Love the fairy godtrash man who keeps stealing her stuff. I can’t wait to find out who he is.

Caught my attention from the start

Short, fun, quirky little urban fantasy involving a murder mystery, three unlikely supernatural allies investigating the murder, and a street smart orphan who becomes their "human pet." It was weirdly wholesome despite the murder and gore. Pet is very humorous and lends a lot of lightheartedness to the serious fae and vampire. Already queued up the rest of the series so I'll be ripping through it this week.

Listened to the audiobook and the narrator was SO GOOD: Zehra Jane Naqvi

Loved it

This book is delightful and refreshing. The story is told by a first person perspective and a fae's pet. It's witty, you fall in love with the characters. At first, in chapter one, I had my doubts. By chapter two, I was hooked.
