Buyer Personas is the marketer's actionable guide to learning what your buyer wants and how they make decisions. Written by the world's leading authority on buyer personas, this audiobook provides comprehensive coverage of a compelling new way to conduct buyer studies, plus practical advice on adopting the buyer persona approach to measurably improve marketing outcomes. Listeners will learn how to segment their customer base, investigate each customer type, and apply a radically more relevant process of message selection, content creation, and distribution through the channels that earn buyers' trust. Rather than relying on generic data or guesswork to determine what the buyer wants, the buyer persona approach allows companies to ask the buyer directly and obtain more precise guidance.

Buyer personas are composite pictures of the people who buy solutions, services or products, crafted through a unique type of interview with the people the marketer wants to influence. This audiobook provides step-by-step guidance toward implementing the buyer persona approach, with the advice of an internationally-respected expert.

Listen to this audiobook to learn who buys what, and why; understand your buyer's goals and how you can address them; tailor your marketing activities to your buyer's expectations; and see the purchase through the customer's eyes.

The book was enlightening and entertaining as your relates to a larger business structure. Information was not practical for a small business such as myself.

Not ideal for small business

Pam Ward should be outlawed. This is the second book I listen to her narration (by pure coincidence), and I really hope I will not make this mistake again.

The book itself comes from a lot of experience and is insightful, but it is written as a set of to‐do lists. This a tedious and awkward way to plant ideas into a thinking, experienced and creative mind. It may be good for second year students, not for savvy marketers or entrepreneurs. In many chapters I just skipped several minutes forward in those lists, not feeling I missed anything.

I would by far prefer a book that would shortly explain the idea and then tell me stories about real world examples of implementations that would ignite my thinking and creativity.

Tedious and worthily narrated

I didn't expect to learn anything from this book. I have a PhD in Business Administration and taught graduate classes about buyer personas. I always felt they were nice to create from a marketing perspective, but not particularly helpful for delivering sales results. Surprisingly, the author agreed. Even more surprising was that she offered the key to transforming the usual homogenization of customer personalities into a useful tool for increasing sales. That key is TALKING to buyers, not to check their demographics, but to determine WHY they bought your product OR (even more importantly) why they DIDN'T. What they don't like about your offer is the key to boosting sales and improving your bottom line. That's the information the sales team never uncovers and can't determine on their own. It's based on the qualitative aspects of sales and failures that quantitative data doesn't reveal.

So, if you think buyer personas offer little practical value, check out this book.

Obtaining RELAVENT buyer data is the key!
