My 13-year-old son and I love listening to the story while driving to the grandparents. We enjoyed the intrigue and the suspense.

I thought the story was a little predictable, although I wasn’t expecting a reality TV series to be the end. We gave it a four star rating because we did not enjoy the part when the kids had to chew up their food for the Hobo meals. That was pretty disgusting. I’m from the country and there are many ways to make campfire meals with limited utensils that don’t require chewing and spitting out your food. Plus, how are the kids supposed to know who’s packet was theirs when they return from their adventure?

The story is best suited for kids fifth grade through eighth grade although as a educator I think any age group is appreciate!

Great road trip read!
