There are many things that go bump in the night, and I am one of them.
Hunters are what prevent our world from descending into chaos and bloodshed. We are the shields in the dark and the weapons of protection, walking the line of good and evil every day… or so I thought.
I was born and raised to hunt, honed into an elite soldier dedicated to our cause, until those around me commit the worst act imaginable and betray me. Left for dead, I have no choice but to turn away from humans and embrace the very monsters I pursue for help.
Everything I thought I knew about our organization quickly crumbles around me, and I lose my faith in humanity. Vengeance steals my morals, and before this is through, I will have more blood on my hands than the traitors I hunt.
I don't care, though, not anymore—all I want is revenge.
The Fates have a strange plan for me, however, and when all is said and done, can I ever go back to who I was before, or will I become a monster just like those surrounding me?
Welcome to the Court of Evil, where not everything is black and white.

*Court of Evil* pulls you straight into a brutal, morally gray world where the line between hunter and monster blurs almost immediately—and it doesn’t let up.
K.A. Knight delivers a dark, vengeance-driven story that leans heavily into themes of betrayal, identity, and transformation. The premise starts strong: a highly trained hunter, raised to believe in a righteous cause, is completely shattered when her own people turn on her. What follows is less a story about justice and more a descent—one fueled by anger, survival, and the slow erosion of humanity.
The protagonist is one of the book’s strongest elements. She isn’t softened for the reader’s comfort. Her rage feels raw, her choices often ruthless, and her evolution into something more dangerous (and possibly monstrous) is both compelling and unsettling. If you enjoy characters who don’t always make “good” decisions, you’ll find her arc gripping.
The world-building hints at a larger mythology—hunters, monsters, and a hidden system that isn’t as noble as it claims. While not overly complex, it effectively sets the stage for the darker tone and shifting loyalties. The “Court of Evil” itself adds intrigue, suggesting power structures and dynamics that go beyond simple good vs. evil.
That said, the book leans heavily into dark romance and revenge tropes, which may not be for everyone. At times, the pacing can feel rushed, especially when it comes to emotional transitions or relationship developments. Readers looking for slow-burn character growth or deep political intrigue might find certain elements underexplored.
Overall, *Court of Evil* is a gritty, fast-paced read that thrives on intensity and emotional chaos. It’s best suited for readers who enjoy darker fantasy with morally complex characters, revenge arcs, and a touch of the forbidden.
**Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)**
A savage, addictive ride through darkness—just don’t expect to come out unscathed.
