The darkest sins…

He begins his work just before dawn, wielding a knife with the precision of a surgeon. Cunning and meticulous, he’s always in control. Mercy is not an option.

Will always…

Maleah Perdue is tough, outspoken, and completely dedicated to her work at the Powell Security Agency. But her fearless exterior shatters when a madman begins killing her colleagues one by one, mimicking a notorious serial killer already behind bars. Working alongside top profiler Derek Lawrence, Maleah will do anything to find the murderer, even if it means playing a psychopath’s twisted mind games.

Come to light.

No one connected to the agency is safe. No one is beyond suspicion. For as Maleah and Derek piece together the clues, they uncover a chilling legacy of lies and brutal vengeance—and a killer who has been hiding in plain sight all along.

Critic reviews

“The second ‘Dead’ thriller is a great romantic suspense that grips the audience from the moment the protagonists begin to learn of the assault on Powell and never lets go as the climax diabolically leads to the next unpublished tale. The lead pair is a terrific coupling…However, what makes Dead by Morning super is the serial killer, who will be considered one of the vilest of the year.” (Mystery Gazette)

This was action packed and had a lot of romance as well. Also very intriguing. I would have rather have the book end though without having to buy the next

Great book but...

I really love the plots but not the graphic sex. in fact, I generally fast forward past them.

2nd book in series & having given over to the author's world for the book not to be annoying I am enjoying the series. Great detailed descriptions. There are many characters in the series & the narrator knocks each one out the box!
I commend the author for making the character's diverse. From the black best friend to one of the main characters being wheel chaired bound & holding her own. Strong female characters.
I further commend the author for taking on the topic of human trafficking. While the topic is covered it is not in your face.
The book is good b/c it has strong character development, diverse characters, and great descriptions.

Narrator Rocked It Out!

The author did a much better job of building the tension and suspense earlier in this book than the first in the series which dragged in parts in my opinion. I still liked the first book overall even with its faults and the narrator took a bit of time to get used to but her voice finally grew on me and I came to like it in the end. This second book though moves more quickly and gets more involved in answering the lingering questions from the first. Though there are more questions left to ponder for book 3 in the series this book did a good job of completing an important part of the story while still leaving you hanging for the next part. I have already purchased the third book and am preparing to listen to it right away. Definitely this book was worth the credit spent on it but to understand the whole story you really should start at the beginning with book 1 "Dead by Midnight".

Better than the first book!!

I really like this book, even more than the preceding one! ! The continuity and integrity of the characters and the threads that are continued from one book to the next are really important in order to stay deep in the story!! Excellent job of the writing and also of the performance! Very believable transition between the characters by the reader! I enjoyed it so much that I stayed up all night to finish it! I made myself write this before I went into the app to buy the next book! So... bye now!

Still awake by morning!!
