Who says you can't go home?

The greatest days of Heather Matthews' life have taken place in Delta County. Unfortunately, so have the worst.

Ten years after an unspeakable tragedy took the lives of the two people she loved the most, Heather returns to her hometown for a class reunion with her high school sweetheart, who is now her husband. Just when she recalls all the reasons to love the idyllic lakeside town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, her life is once again turned upside down.

Heather must push her grief aside and investigate the events that occurred the night of the reunion. The process will also have her questioning everything she thought she knew about the tragedy 10 years prior.

In a town this small, betrayal always hits a little too close to home.

The narrator was awful. So many pauses and breathing into the microphone. I liked the story though.

Liked the story

Amazing storyline for anyone that likes a good murder mystery plot and is tired of being able to guess the ending. This one threw me for a loop.

Great book

The reader had an accent/slight lisp that was sometimes difficult to hear but the story was good and the ending unexpected, which I liked. Overall good…

Although I liked the story, I hated the recording. Some of the story was recorded in a very clear and crisp way but there were other parts where it sounded like she was recording in her bathroom. It took away from the story because it was very distracting!

Entertaining but….

Good storyline. Nothing earth-shattering about the prose, but listened on a five hour drive and it kept me awake. I was worried about the narration based on other reviews. It was a little annoying but I don't tend to get bothered by it unless it's extremely poor. Quick read with a good pace of story. I liked the sharing of the story from Heather's POV as it keeps you guessing about the "why" of the first person retelling. All in all, worth a credit.

Good story for a long drive
