Deputy Clementine Calaway spent her whole life trying to prove she was just as tough as her six older brothers.

Becoming a deputy in the small town of Calaway Crossing was one way to do it. And it was relatively safe. She was related to half the people in a town whose crime rate was practically non-existent. She loved working with her Chief, the man who had been in charge of the department for thirty years.

But an unexpected heart attack led to an early retirement for Chief Masters, and his replacement, an outsider, was a surprise to everyone. Booker Rafferty would have a hard time gaining the respect of the residents of Calaway Crossing, and earning the trust of Deputy Clementine.

She found the new chief to be distant, almost to the point of rudeness. But whenever he gave her one of his rare smiles, she wondered if she was making some headway. Perhaps the man, who her future sister-in-law called, muy sexy, had a heart buried somewhere deep beneath all that armor.

Deputy Clementine is the third book in the Calaway Crossing Series.

This is the third book in this series but can be listened
to as a standalone.
I found the storyline had a lot of depth and the relationship
between all characters was very true to life.
The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters and
book to life.

Very sweet and entertaining
