You’d think there’d be a little more action for the only professional wizard listed in the Chicago phone book. But lately, Harry Dresden hasn’t been able to dredge up any kind of work: magical, mundane, or menial.

Just when it looks like he can’t afford his next meal, a murder comes along that requires his particular brand of supernatural expertise. There’s a brutally mutilated corpse, and monstrous animal markings at the scene. Not to mention that the killing took place on the night of a full moon. Harry knows exactly where this case is headed. Take three guesses—and the first two don’t count...

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Narrated by Matthew Bassett as Harry Dresden, with performances by Nora Sofyan as Karrin Murphy, Nicole Perez as Susan Rodriguez, Yasmin Tuazon as Tera West, Gregory Linington as John Marcone, Christopher Walker as Bob, Mort Shelby as Harley MacFinn, Mike Carnes as Agent Denton, Ryan Haugen as Agent Harris, Rita Amparita as Agent Benn, Gerald Hill as Agent Wilson, Rayner Gabriel as Parker, Damon Alums as Flatnose, Tia Shearer as Lana, Julian Dailey as Billy, Triya Leong as Georgia, Marissa Clay as Kim Delany, Bradley Foster Smith as Chauncy, Jonathon Church as Ron Carmichael, and Robb Moreira as Rudolph. Great story, great story telling, I love the cinematic version as of this review they only have 3 cinematics AND well I am on book 4 now LOL.. almost done! I was hesitant at first as I am more sci-fi and really dislike old fantasy swords and sorcery. This is NOT that. It is a modern day wizard with paranormal issues. I absolutely love this series. It currently ranks just under expeditionary forces as my favorite series 4 books in. Highly recommend if you like good story arcs in a single book, good characters, great action BUT not to much. In fact there is just the right amount imo. There are way to many sci-fi fantasy that turn into constant fighting without much purpose. This is not that it is great. Recommended highly. Each book gets better Death Masks really starts to shine like crazy.

Wow glad I bumped into this.

Mr. Marsters will always be a good fit, but for some reason this new GA narrator really hits it out of the park, I love it. Also, I see Grave Peril is already up for pre order...yes please!

the narrator is a perfect fit and I already pre-ordered the new Grave Peril release.

The primary narrator really hits the L in "chalk" and "stalk" but otherwise does great. Volume is consistent and the background audio plus additional cast really bring the story to life

A tiny bit of odd pronunciation but well done

I love James Marsters, but the first couple of books are terrible audio books. You can hear swallowing and breathing and it really takes you out of the experience. By Grave Peril and Summer Night the audio experience greatly improves. Through the years I haven’t gone back to listen to the first two audiobooks and have skipped straight to Grave Peril. These full cast editions have given me the opportunity to go back and enjoy listening to the first two books. I think the cast has done a great job with this second book. My only negative has to do with a particular scene towards the end of the book where there is a pretty loud alarm. I listen to audiobooks pretty fast and the alarm was constant and went on for way too long. Yes I understand they want to make immersive but it isn’t very enjoyable hearing an alarm while you’re just trying to listen to the dialogue and other background noises. If I listened at a slower speed I think it would have been worse because of how long it would have gone on. Other than that one part, this was an enjoyable relisten to Fool Moon and I cannot wait for the next full cast audiobook!

Best version to listen to Fool Moon.
