Jodi Weiss presents Tess’s life, its inevitable changes, uncertainties, setbacks and triumphs in a manner that is tangible and gripping. As I read each chapter I felt a connection to each of the individuals that are part of this story. For me, the author was magical in the way she would interchange the characters external dialogue with their very personal internal thoughts. The novel is thought provoking and reflective. It is a true expression of what being alive is all about. From Comfortable Distances is personal journey that each of us travel.

Interesting and thought provoking from beginning until the last word. It will stick with me for a long time.

The characters were very relatable and well developed but the story was far longer then it needed to be. The narrator made it easier to stay to the end as her voice worked well adapting to the tone and moods of each character. I enjoyed the plot and characters. But wish it had been shorter.

Disclaimer: Yes, I narrated the book so now that you know that I just have to say that reading this 23 hour book was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had as a narrator and reader.

Everyday I looked forward to being in the booth because all of the characters became people I cared about and the insights and revelations Tess encountered seeped into my own life. I didn’t know until the last chapter how it would end and wept at the end—partially because I had to say goodbye to these characters.

A beautiful love story told artfully.

I can’t recommend it enough.

From Comfortable Distances is an exceptionally good book. Beautifully written by Jodi Weiss and narrated by Molly Secours. Loved the novel. The author brilliantly crafts and describes the characters and experiences, taking you on a wonderful journey. I look forward to reading more from this talented writer.
